Live Music Bill Passes Committee Stage
The Live Music Bill, co-sponsored by Lord Clement-Jones and Don Foster MP, cleared its last Commons hurdle on Friday (20th Jan). It is now on the home straight to becoming law.
Two minor amendments agreed in Commons Committee must be ratified in the Lords, probably within a fortnight, and dates set for Royal Assent. Implementation will require secondary legislation. A lead-in period of several months is likely to allow time for the live music sections within statutory Licensing Guidance to be rewritten.

Social Enterprise Conference
SOCIAL Enterprises are organisations that operate as a business but have social or philanthropic goals. Many of our members might find that applies to all or some of their work (that certainly applies to TEN GREEN BOTTLES) if so, this conference is for you.
It takes place on Wednesday 21st March 2012 at the Elephant & Castle Hotel, Newtown. The event aims to inform, inspire, and provide potential business opportunities for delegates and exhibitors.
In addition, a range of exhibition stands will offer advice and funding opportunities as well as examples of some of the very best social enterprise Powys has to offer.
The event is organised by Powys Regeneration Partnership (PRP) in conjunction with Cwm Harry, Robert Owen Banking, PAVO, and other partners, following a widespread consultation of the sector in 2010-11.

2012 Arts Conference
We are starting to plan our conference which we intend to hold this autumn. The key theme will be developing audiences and finding markets which will continue some of the work we have been doing around Arts Month.
We need to hear from our members what topics you would like covered, potential speakers, and whether a weekday or a weekend day is best for you.
Also see the information on the left hand panel regarding the Social Enterprise Conference, which we think will include a lot of information and opportunities relevant to the arts. Social Enterprises are organisations and individuals who operate in the market, but whose aims are not primarily economic.
ADMINISTRATOR
We are pleased to announce that we have two part-time administrators who will be helping us. They are Kayte Phillips and Julia Blazer.

2010 Conference a Huge Success!

Our first full conference has been a huge success with a number of ideas and suggestions raised that the Forum will be taking forward in its future planning.
More details will be found on our conference page along with a list of those who attended.
Many people are still unaware of what the Forum actually has been doing, so we'll be addressing that as soon as we can - though a lot of the answers can already be found on this website.

Opportunities 2012
Skive is a small town in Denmark next to a large inland fjord. Water has always been important to the social, economic and cultural development of the town. The municipality has bought a houseboat and converted it to a floating art centre where paintings, music and other types of art are exhibited. The Swan as the culture houseboat is called sail around to other towns in the inland fjord and takes part in local festivals and other events organised by local artists or citizens.
Skive would like to create a project about exchanging art and artists under the theme of water and is looking for partners. Download further information
